Upgraded iPhone now debit card doesn't work in the Wallet
I upgraded my iPhone from a 13 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max. Everything transferred over nicely. My debit card from my credit union was there but listed as a prior card. When I went to activate it, it got the Try Again or Add Card Later pop up. Very frustrating. It is very clear by the quick pop up, it isn't even going out and attempting to contact the card issuer. Does anyone have any ideas or found a fix if they had the same issue?
***Please do not reply with the canned response below. I have already tried that at least four times. ALL of the options listed in the below canned response.***
Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. Since you are getting an error regarding adding your cards, it may be best to reach out to your bank or card issuer again. As mentioned in If you can't add a card to Apple Wallet to use with Apple Pay - Apple Support, Apple does not approve or decline cards for use with Apple Pay.
1. Check that you're able to use Apple Pay:
• Contact your card issuer to see if they support Apple Pay.
• Update to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, watchOS, or macOS.
• Make sure that you are in a supported country or region.
• Check that your device is compatible with Apple Pay.
2. Check for services outages or connection issues.
3. If you see the message "Could Not Add Card" or "Invalid Card," contact your bank or card issuer.
Apple does not approve or decline cards for use with Apple Pay. If your card was declined, contact your bank or card issuer.
If you need help adding a card, learn how to set up Apple Pay.
If the same happens with the payment methods in iTunes, there may be an issue with a past order. Use the guidance in If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support. The following is from that article.
If you still can't make a purchase
• You might have an unpaid order. Learn how to pay an unpaid order.
• Contact your financial institution.
You might need to ask your financial institution to allow international purchases on your debit or credit card.
If you want to know why a debit card, credit card, or other payment method was declined, speak with your financial institution. Apple doesn't have information about why the payment method was declined.
• In some countries and regions, your payment method might be declined because of changes to local law. Learn about billing and purchases in Europe or what to do if your card is declined in India.
Take care.
