Numbers vs Catalina

It is sad that I cannot use Numbers with Catalina. I have not used MacBook before and I am starting of with a used one. Both for economical purposes and environmental. Question to Apple, could you please rethink this? Now I have to download Microsoft product to be able to use a spreadsheet for personal budgeting and so on. Or can you at least relaunch a simple version for home use, "Numbers light"? Excel or similar is the only product I need, that you do not provide for older versions of MacBooks. Would be very customer friendly if you did.
