restoring stickies from time machine on imac 14.3.1

I go to time machine and see stickiesdatabase, I select it and say to restore - nothing happens


iMac 24″, macOS 13.6

Since macOS Catalina, macOS does not use the ~/Library/StickiesDatabase file and instead has split the individual stickies in that digest file to separate RTFD documents stored elsewhere in that Library location.


/Users/username/Library/Containers/Stickies/Data/Library/Stickies/


In Finder, navigate to that last Stickies location in the above path. Then launch the Time Machine application and its initial window will open on the same location. Restore that Stickies folder and each of your Stickies from that backup timeframe will be restored in that folder.
