Trouble with Zoom and other links. Computer says my browsers aren't supported, but not able to upgrade with OS High Sierra and not sure that I can upgrade my OS. Have a MacAir bought in 2017. Do I need a new computer? Similar problem with some links on my iPad. Phone seems to work. Thank you.

Your 2017 MacBook Air can be upgraded to macOS Monterey (12.7.3) and that will give you current Safari security support on all web sites. However, macOS High Sierra supports 32-bit and 64-bit applications and device drivers, but Monterey only supports 64-bit applications and device drivers.

Should you decide to upgrade, you will need a list of 32-bit application (not document) dependencies and for that you can download and run the free Go64 application. You would also need a final Time Machine backup of High Sierra, and then after the upgrade, begin new Time Machine backups on a new Time Machine drive formatted as APFS.

You will likely need to download the macOS Monterey installer into your Applications folder from How to download and install macOS - Apple Support

Some 32-bit dependency applications that you may have on High Sierra: MS Office 2011, any Adobe CS? suite, Apple's iWork '09 applications, iPhoto, etc.

Also, before any upgrade beyond High Sierra, verify that your printer/scanner vendor still provides driver support for macOS Monterey (12.0), or that your device is supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint when networked. You won't need vendor drivers if there is AirPrint support.
