Photo Backup to USB Devices

Do I have to drag and drop all 1000 photos on a specific album one by one? And when will apple have an option to remove the pointer in “recents “ album after we put the photo into a specific album. That has always bugged me. When we’re trying to organize photos it’s super annoying to see the photos in recents because that’s the album we go to first when taking pictures on the go. It leave too much ch clutter.

In iPhone Photos you can select pictures by choosing Select and the dragging your finger of bunches of pictures-- then choose Add to Album.

But the Recents view is unlikely to change. Recents shows all the pictures in the Library in order of capture. That's what it does. You can count on it, and you can count on that not being changed. When someone has problems, we can say, "Look in Recents" or "Look in Imports" and expect the items to be where they are expected.

It's true that on a Mac you can make a Smart Album that includes Recents not in an Album for instance, but that is not yet available on the iPhone. Like you, I want smart albums on the phone.

Of course, there is not point in asking us, users like yourself, when or if Apple will do something. You can leave feedback, as I have, for Apple here:

you might consider to use iCloud Photos to help you to reduce the clutter.

What I am using to remove clutter is the Shared iCloud Photos Library. I don't use it for sharing photos, just to split my iCloud Photos Library into two different sets of photos. Using the Shared iCloud Photos Library to have two separate libraries on all devices - Apple Community

After we set up the Shared iCloud Photos Library we are having a nice toggle switch, where we can switch between the Shared Library, the personal library, or both together.

  • I am moving all photos I have already developed and tagged with keywords and organised in albums to the Shared Library. It is my showcase of my best photos, ready for showing to others. To view my Photos I set the toggle switch in Photos on my devices to "Shared Library".
  • When the library has been set to Personal Library I am seeing in recents and the other albums only the unorganized mess, that has not yet been moved to my shared Library.
  • When I the switch is set to Both Libraries, I can compare the remaining photos in the Personal Library side-beside to the finished photos in the Shared Library and reconsider my choices.

This is working well not only on my Macs, but also on my iPad and iPhone.

Without iCloud consider to mark the photos you are done with and want to keep with the favourite heart ♡

Then you cans at once in Recents which photos you Have already dealt with.

Thanks I appreciate you taking the time to answer me, also forgive me for asking about features here it was a rhetorical statement really, but I do understand its all good. I don’t use a MAC , I’ve thought about it but all I have is an old Lenovo laptop I hardly ever use otherwise 3 iPads and a Chromebook and I’m easily frustrated with different Os

Smart albums should definitely be available on mobile devices and we should be able to search albums on devices by name
