Formula for line by line running totals

what is the formula for a monthly expenses chart that adds the dollar amount of the previous line with the dollar amount of the next line. For example:

$3.00. $3.00

$4.00. $7.00

$15.00. $22.00

I've been browsing pages for 30 minutes and can't find an automated function to do this. I can add sums line by line but I am pretty sure this function exists already. I just don't know the name.

Try an "expanding range" like this:

=SUM(B$1:B2)

In this example I entered the formula in C2 making sure the row of the first value is anchored with the $.

Then I selected C2, hovered over the bottom edge until I saw the yellow dot, and dragged the yellow dot down the column.
