How can I swipe left to archive ios mail

I’m trying to get a consistent set of actions for swiping in iOS mail.

i don’t seem to be able to change the swipe direction for archive, apple mail archives on swipe right, my four gmail accounts archive on swipe left. Is there any way to get iOS to archive on swipe left?

But when I look at my Swipe left options for in settings it’s not visible. I think there is somehow a different path to this setting. My swipe left option on my iPhone is set to ‘None’ but when I physically swipe left ‘Archive’ appears, just not on my iPad. Could someone please assist.

iPad email account swipe settings I’m using iPad 6th generation, OS 16.2, 128gig. I set up a 2nd gmail account. As I “swipe left” to delete a message (like I do with my primary gmail account) the swipe function of my 2nd account is set to “Archive” as the first of 3 options, the middle is “move” and the third is “more”. I have searched but can’t find the tool to change it. How do I change the first swipe function to “delete” so I can swipe once and automatically delete a email message rather than having to use the “move” option? Thanks Jeff

swipe right to trash mail message I used to be able to swipe right on a mail message and send it to trash. Now I just upgraded to iOS16, and I can only do it by swiping left. I've tried all the suggestions I've read, and settings for mail, and advanced settings. I'm left handed so this is kind of a pain to switch now...plus breaking a habit! am I missing something?
