Airtag and airpods detected near you. Glitch?

I have an ipad, which I only keep at one place. I recently received notification, that there were airpods and airtag moving and detected near me (the ipad). The map shows that they were detected in a location in USA, as well as my home address in Europe. I have never been in that location in USA neither alone nor with this ipad. Other apple devices like my iphone did not receive same notification. What could have caused it? Could it have been a strange glitch?

A glitch ... possibly. By default your iPad participates in the Apple Find My Network, along with literally millions of other iPads & iPhones. Should an AirTag or AirPods get within Bluetooth range (~9-12m) of your iPad, your iPad will relay that device's ID, along with your iPad's GPS location, over the Internet, to the Apple servers. This communication is completely encrypted and does not reveal any personal information about your iPad to Apple.

However, what I would have expected would be that the location you see on the Find My app on your iPad would be near you ... not across the world ... so, yes, it could just be a glitch.
