iPhone 15 Pro Bluetooth Compatibility with Cars on iOS 17+. Significant Improvement!

Well, I think there's some good news to share here, so I thought I'd try restart this thread.

Have installed iOS 17.4 on my iPhone 15 Pro and Bluetooth connectivity has now improved significantly.

But it is still not perfect.

The iPhone now appears to operate correctly at first - when I dial, it now disengages audio from the radio, which briefly clips back in as it connects. This was not happening previously.

I now commence speaking via the car's in built handsfree system and it seems to stay connected 75% of the time, which is a vast improvement from the 100% drop out.

So it seems that the long awaited software update has come.

But it also seems that it's significant & progressive improvement rather than a 100% solution.

For some back story, my car is a MY2013 Porsche Cayenne S - no car play installed.

Porsche has fully replaced the PCM head unit and the contained Phone Unit and updated firmware to latest versions (which were not recent releases) under factory extended warranty (up to 15 years on a Porker!).

This was while running iOS 17.3.1

The made no discernible difference to the flakey connection between my iPhone and the car.

I have also previously undergone trouble shooting with Apple support staff via phone support, to no effect. But they did also refer me in a Genius meeting at an Apple Store. At this meeting, they backed up and erased my iPhone to attempt a fresh connection - this made no difference despite a full fresh install with no personal data loaded.

They they swapped my iPhone for a new one to attempt again. Once more no improvement whatsoever either before or after loading my personal data.

At no stage did any Apple representative at any level acknowledge the Bluetooth issue.

This week's 17.4 update seemed to immediately improve initial connection. At first I thought it was totally rectified. But I have had a drop out.
