WhatsApp pics are appearing duplicated on Photos on iPhone

Once you update WhatsApp the issue is resolved.

although it may look like no update is available, search in the App Store for what’s app, click on the words “what’s app” and there will be an update button there.

Was facing the same issue from 3 days. The issue is with WhatsApp and they released an update 18 hrs ago which addresses this issue. Just updated and I think it is resolved :)

You guys, all you need is to update the whatsapp and problem is settle. I've tried to download any picture before the update and yet it shows duplicate photos or video. But right after I update the version of whatsapp and give it a try with photos or videos download, it already back to normal that only 1 photos/video is downloaded

Hi - I found the fix for the duplicate pics issue. If you find an update for Whatsapp, please update it to 2.24.5.74 and this issue is resolved.

You can check if there is an update available by going to -> Apple Store -> Search for "Whatsapp"->Click Whatsapp Messenger -> If there is an update button available, click it and once its updated, you will no longer see this issue.

This is now FIXED in WhatsApp version 24.5.75, which is available in the App Store.

If you manually update the app you should stop seeing this issue.

Solved!!!, just update to the latest WhatsApp version, as of March 12 there is an update released 18 hours ago. First search WhatsApp on the AppStore and click on WhatsApp, by clicking on it, it’ll show you the update, just update it.

I had the same issue for days. In the App Store is an upgrade of Whatsapp available. If you download the newest version then the problem is fixed; at least this worked for me.

It seems that the issue of WhatsApp photos appearing duplicated in the iPhone Photos app is a known problem and many users are facing it and its from the WhatsApp end not because of the new IOS 17 update. Here’s a suggested solution to address this issue until it's fixed by WhatsApp

Disable automatic WhatsApp photo saving:

• • Open the WhatsApp app on your iPhone.
  • Tap on Settings at the bottom.
  • Enter the Chats section.
  • Turn off the Save to Photos switch.

Doing so will save you in saving duplicate pics and keep this setting on until the issue is resolved.

I updated to the latest version of Whatsapp.

Looks like they implemented a bug fix and it's no longer duplicating images!

Hi, I had the same problem - the photos from whatsapp were saved twice. Today I wrote to whatsapp support. They told me to uninstall and reinstall whatsapp and sign in again. I did it and turned off my phone and then turned it on again and now it’s working!!! 😀 Only one cooy of the photos are saved!

Guys it seems issue was with Whatsapp. I had same issue and updated Whatsapp today to 24.5.75 and it got resolved.
