WhatsApp pics are appearing duplicated on Photos on iPhone

On my iPhone my WhatsApp is set to automatically save the photos I receive on Photos. For me this was working just fine, but a couple of days ago Photos started to save each photo twice. This means that now, if I receive one photo via WhatsApp and then I go to Photos, the same pic appears duplicated.

I've been searching settings on my phone to try to fix this with no luck, I've been looking for it also through the internet but I cannot find the solution. I also tried turning off the "save in Photos" setting, then turning off my phone and then turning "save in Photos" back on but didn't work either.

I'll appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi - I found the fix for the duplicate pics issue. If you find an update for Whatsapp, please update it to 2.24.5.74 and this issue is resolved.

You can check if there is an update available by going to -> Apple Store -> Search for "Whatsapp"->Click Whatsapp Messenger -> If there is an update button available, click it and once its updated, you will no longer see this issue.

Hey,

soo I faced the same issue after 17.4

I did something and it works for me(iphone 14 pro max)

so what you can try is:

go to whatsapp> settings> chat> save to camera roll - turn that off!

close whatsapp and come back after a minute and again go to settings> chat> save to camera roll - turn it back on!

this wil fix it. Atleast for me!!

Just go to App Store and update the latest version of WhatsApp. I had the same issue and it was resolved after the update. Thank me later 😃

search for whatsApp and there is an update.

Solution:

go to AppStore
Type and search whatsapp
download update (under what’s new it has mentioned that they have fixed copy pasting images

There is a new update of whatsapp available on app store now, which resolves this issue.

issue is FIXED by Whatsapp recent update 24.5.75. just upload recent update from WhatsApp .

Was facing the same issue from 3 days. The issue is with WhatsApp and they released an update 18 hrs ago which addresses this issue. Just updated and I think it is resolved :)

The problem is resolved with the last update of Whatsapp, for some reason the update it's not automatically proposed, you need to go to "App Store" search for "Whatsapp" and you will see the "update" button.

Go to app store

Click on your profile pic (top right corner)

Scroll down until you find whatsapp

Hold your finger on the WhatsApp icon (donnot open)

Another window should appear with an update, click update (solved my problem)
