Everyone, please update your Whatsapp from iOS store. The problem has been resolved, it was whatsapp end issue not from iOS.

I am having the same issue since around 2-3 days ago on my iPhone 15. Even when I click merge photos on iPhone and it shows they’ve successfully merged via that option, I go back to my recent photo album and they’re still there.

The only way for me to get rid of the duplicate photo is by deleting it.

It is only an issue with photographs that people send me via WhatsApp rather than ones I take myself and send to them… it’s really annoying.

I haven’t done an iOS update within the last few days.

any solutions ?

Same here on iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 17.4. I’ve reinstalled WhatsApp 2 times and still duplicates photos.

It’s NOT related to 17.4 as I’m getting the same issue & I’m on 17.3.

I’ve reported to WhatsApp- I suggest you do the same.

Seems like issue with latest WhatsApp update. I’m using 2.24.4.78 and I’m not observing this issue in my device while my friend updated to 2.24.5.73 who is facing this issue. This should be fixed from WhatsApp not Apple

Whatsapp released a bug fix , please update whatsapp

This is a whatsapp issue not ios. Im on 17.3.1 and it was working fine before i updated whatsapp. I know people still on ios 17.0 and have this issue because they are on the latest whatsapp. Contact whatsapp for them to fix the bug. The more they hear about it the quicker they fix it.
