WhatsApp pics are appearing duplicated on Photos on iPhone

Has anyone updated WhatsApp from 3 days ago to see if that helps? Because I’m updating now because I was having the same issue

I am having the same issue since around 2-3 days ago on my iPhone 15. Even when I click merge photos on iPhone and it shows they’ve successfully merged via that option, I go back to my recent photo album and they’re still there.

The only way for me to get rid of the duplicate photo is by deleting it.

It is only an issue with photographs that people send me via WhatsApp rather than ones I take myself and send to them… it’s really annoying.

I haven’t done an iOS update within the last few days.

any solutions ?

I guess it's more of a "WhatsApp" problem rather than iOS. I'm using iPhone 13mini with iOS 17.3

I'm facing the same issue from a few days back. Hate it how every single time I have to delete the duplicates.

I’m also facing the same issue from yesterday. I’m using iPhone 11. And it happened after iOS 17.4 update. But my frnds don’t face this issue. We both bought the same phone at the same time.

I'm facing the same issue since last morning. Deleted my WhatsApp twice hoping that the problem will get solved. Searched and rested all settings twice...Still having same problem. Please release update and solve the problem soon.

Likewise for me too, iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I don’t think it’s an Apple issue, could be a WhatsApp bug. What versions of iOS and WhatsApp are people using? Does anyone have or know someone with Android and having the same issue?

This picture issue of saving every pic duplicate is happening with me too after updating 17.4.

i feel now a days Apple has become the android wherein they don’t test the update and every now and then there is a new issue comes up.

Very poor battery back up for iPhones, AirPods and Apple Watches too. If we spend half of this money for any android we will get a fantastic battery back up. Android was famous for their updates and now Apple has also started this drama. As if we are spending 200-300 dollars for the products. Pathetic performance Apple. Highly disappointed.

I too facing this issue from couple of days. Firstly I don’t think this is related to 17.4 update because I have not yet updated still I am facing this issue.

Secondly for sure it’s issue only because I don’t have this issue on my android device yet.

@apple Please fix this asap.

i also noticed this today after updating to IOS 17.4 yesterday. There is also no solution yet in the web.

would be better if we could roll back the ios as an alternate option if apple did allow this, while they fix their glitches.

I am having the same problem right after the iOS 17.4 update but I am having another issue before updating i.e whenever i send a media through WhatsApp it take **** lot of time and keeps processing to send the file.

I have the same problem. I thought that I might have changed some settings on my phone by accident. I do however done a Whatsupp update on Friday and it looks as if the duplicated problem started just after the update.

I raised this issue with WhatsApp also.

This response is utter nonsense.

Thank You so much for posting this. Only noticed this issue the past 3 days. Some photos can be deleted using “delete duplicate photos”. But it still so much work. And not every single photos were detected. Some manage to escape the duplicate detection. I’ve trying to troubleshoot up to deleting and reinstalling whatsapp on my iphone, thinking that i messed up settings.
