Unable to use Safari after the latest update

I’m unable to use Safari after the latest iOS 17.4 update, because all the going back, and forward buttons are gone with the tab, along with the search bar tab🙀🤯

Any help how to fix the issue??

Atleast I know I’m not the only one facing this issue, my friend updated her phone as well today to iOS 17.4 and he’s facing the same issue!!🤯

I am having the exact same issue. Safari will not launch, just times out. I am also on iOS 12.7.4. For those who will just say "clear your cache" you cannot clear the cache until you can launch Safari. Also, I have done three restarts and that does not clear it. This started IMMEDIATELY after the 17.4 Safari update.

But I know already 5 persons with the same issue after running the latest iOS 17.4 update, so how can that be then just a coincidence for me?! That’s a major issue that’s Apple facing right now, so I’m purely advising people not to update their phone right now, before Apple has fixed the issue, or before there has came out iOS 17.5!

I was hoping Sonoma 14.4.1 (now Safari 17.4.1.) would fix things, but unfortunately...it didn't fix the problems I have with Safari (on macOS). 9 out of 10 times when you visit a website you can't click on the cookies popup to consent or deny. Just clicking on but nothing happens. It occurs on multiple sites. Sometimes pages (tabs) are just freezing. No scrolling possible etc.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Safari issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone Safari functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

I am in exactly the same situation, hcohen. I had to reinstall Monterey, which loaded the previous version of Safari, which worked OK.

Safari 17.1.4 is not loading at all. Yet the Bookmark Sync Agent keeps loading and slowing my iMac to an unworkable degree. But in order to turn off the Sync Agent I have to open Safari, and Safari is not opening at all...

Same issue with upload of Safari 17.4.1 installed 5/5/24 at 6:57 AM.

Since then, Safari keeps timing out of my iMac.

Do we wait for a patch or are we out of luck??

Getting irritated with Apple ecosystem. Keep this up and you’ll end up like Compaq, a footnote in PC history.

Know several who have jumped to Chrome. It appears to be more stable platform.
