Safari search bar remains at bottom on iPhone 16 Pro despite

I have an new one IPhone 16 pro and I am exasperated that my search bar in Safari is compact and on the bottom. I have tried turning search bar on the Top in settings, but it doesnt helped me at all. By the way, I have a new update installed IOS 26.1.

Please give me some help;)

What setting did you change exactly?


The Option ins in Settings ➜ Apps ➜ Safari , scroll down to the "Tabs" section and Select Top.


If you choose either Compact or Bottom, the search bar will be at the bottom

That seems to be a glitch then. I assume if you select a different option like compact it still does not change.


Try selecting compact again, close down settings, then shutdown Safari. Open Settings, and change it back to Top, and re-open Safari see if that works.


If it still won't change, then try restarting the iPhone.

If it still won't change, then you may need to set up a Genius Bar appointment at an Apple Store or authorized service provider to have it checked out.
