If I put my desktop on Icloud, does it still exist on my computer? If I use the get-info method, it seems all my files are on iCloud. But when I disconnect from Wifi, my files are still there. What's up?

iCloud is primarily a syncing service. By default all files on iCloud Drive have a local copy on your Mac. If your Mac is low on storage and you want to potentially save some space, turn on the "Optimize Mac Storage" option in Apple menu > System Settings or see the "Store in iCloud" information in Optimize storage space on your Mac - Apple Support
