Unable to swap default browser from safari to chrome on iMac

When opening the default browser option in system preferences, there are no selections available. How can I fix this?

Open Chrome, Click the Chrome menu next to the apple logo, Click preferences, in the chrome settings, type in default browser and then you should see an option to make Chrome the default browser there
