Why is Auto-Capitalization not working on my iPad Pro, even though it is turned ON in Settings?
Why does my iPad Pro, un-capitalize the first letter of a sentence even though I’ve capitalized it? THIS STARTED AROUND JUNE 2023 WITH AN IOS UPDATE.
I start typing, the word is automatically capitalized, but as soon as I hit the space bar to go to the next word, my iPad uncapitalizes it. The ONLY workaround to this is to turn off my auto-correct, but I need to use auto-correct, for obvious reasons.
Apple and I have tried everything. They have even replaced my iPad TWICE, thinking it might be a hardware issue. Subsequent iOS updates have failed to fix the problem their iOS update created.
i have also reset my keyboard settings multiple times, and the problem is “fixed” but quickly returns within five minutes. Apple has now told me that I need to totally reset my iPad back to factory settings, which is a tedious task that will take hours, if not days for me to restore. I don’t even want to think about how much trouble that’s gonna be.
I copied this from a previous question on the same topic:
“This is illogical and unreasonable. That the settings would automatically un-capitalize the first letter of a sentence. This is not proper English. It does not look good on any kind of formal or real Document or legal documents.
Please No Canned Responses of how to set your keyboard to capitalize the first letter. That is automatically already on. The iPhone settings automatically lowercase the first letter of a sentence even subsequent sentences also.
This is faulty programming. Just because someone believes that the first sentence, the first letter of a sentence should not be capitalized, doesn't make it proper English.
I’m tired of this happening to my documents. It looks very unprofessional and it also looks incredibly modern, and documents Should Not Change to go with a certain fashion statement.”
It’s nice to see that I’m not the only one with this problem, but WE NEED A FIX!!!!
