Importing or dragging Apple Music song to Final Cut Pro does not work for me

With a project open and active timeline, I cannot drag a song into the project using Apple Music. I subscribed to Apple Music recently, thinking that this could be done. I have tried multiple solutions including making sure the song was downloaded, trying to convert to another format, etc. There is really no need for me to continue Apple Music subscription if the feature to import music to FCP is not available. Is there a way using Apple platform OS or apps and not a 3rd party app? Thank you.

There is really no need for me to continue Apple Music subscription if the feature to import music to FCP is not available.

Songs that can be downloaded from Apple Music are for personal viewing. There are restrictions such as editing and falsification, and prohibition of commercial use. Contract = agreement to terms and conditions.

Look for copyright-free sound sources or sign up for a paid service such as Artlist or Epdemic Sound.

Only the songs you purchase are available, and those that are copyrighted/prohibited, won't move to FCPX timelines. But things you load into the Music library yourself, are available for use.

Apple Music does not work with FCP. You might try seeing if you can use it with iMovie. It used to work, but I don't know if that is still the case.

Thanks for the insight and suggestions. I understand, infringing on copyrights was never my intention. I misunderstood the use of Apple Music for the benefit I was seeking. I get overwhelmed with the different types of digital sources for music. Guess I'm old school, maybe LPs will come back someday. All kidding aside, I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

Thank you. I have since canceled Apple Music subscription. It seems like this feature should be a standard feature included with subscription costs.
