Date and time greyed out

Hello all, I am having an issue with my kindle. Where the answer lies in changing the date on my iPhone itself. But, alas, my date & time are greyed out. I have spent the last three hours at least trying to problem shoot. But between what Amazon had from Apple, what I was finding online, and doing what I found in YouTube videos. I ended up with not just bupkis. But thinking I lost system services. I’m thinking maybe in the newest update I did during all of this it moved? No clue. I just know it’s not where it was before. But a moot point because those services were all turned on anyways, so 🤷🏽‍♀️.

The point is, I’m stumped. I’m against a dead end and nowhere to go. I did turning off screen time, I turned off location, I reset the location, and the whole shebang. I updated my phone. Nada! It’s still greyed out. So what am I not doing correctly. Oh, I didn’t understand this, but I went to about phone and looked for network settings to update 🤷🏽‍♀️. But I did it, and it didn’t work either. That was after location settings. So if anyone has additional help they can provide me, I’d be eternally grateful because this is beyond my depth of knowledge.

Thank you to all for the help,

If an app or feature on your device is not working, not appearing, or is restricted (grayed out), it may have been disabled using Screen Time, or by an IT administrator if you are using a device owned by an employer or educational institution.

- Read this support article If your Apple ID or other options are greyed out in Settings —> If your Apple ID is greyed out in Settings - Apple Support

Tap Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy > scroll to Allow Changes and turn on.

- If the device is managed (Settings > General > VPN & Device Management), contact the IT department that is doing the managing.

First of all can you please clarify wich settings are grayed out answering the part where you can't do update directly from your phone, you can force update using a computer a Mac or windows using I tunes,

First you need to put the phone on the recovery mode, then connect your phone to your computer who will ask you if you want to restore or update see the article down bellow, and make sure to do a back up before the update

I had had screen time on to limit my own app usage. But I turned all of that off. But I turned it on just now and checked. I allowed usage to all of those things it shows. So I don’t think it was in that area. At least, I don’t think. A lot of times, when I try and do something good, I end up messing other things up more. So it could be that I turned on the screen time for me all those months ago, and did something that messed this up that’s inhibiting me from changing the date now 🤷🏽‍♀️. But if so, how do I fix it?
