CarPlay on IOS 17.4 not working properly

My wife’s iPhone is still working on 17.3, but mine after the upgrade to 17.4 is not. I can’t get sound control on steering wheel or infotainment knob control. I have already tried forgetting Bluetooth & CarPlay, and also reset the infotainment. I have a Camry 2023 with cable CarPlay. Any one knows a solution?

I tried resetting the infotainment system on my car and magically Apple CarPlay started working. I would advise anybody who is having this issue to give that a try. With a Chevy, you put your car in park while it is running, press the phone hangup button for at least 10 seconds. Then, turn the car off, open the door, close the door and restart the car.

Same here…after working many years proper, CarPlay doesn’t work anymore in Skoda Superb with cable and iPhone 14pro and iPhone 13 mini. . My wife’s and my iPhone with iOS 17.4.1 don’t connect, but my daughters iPhone without the latest update works properly. Since my cars system did not change it is Apple iOS who failed. Hope this will be solved soon, because I’m frequently traveling by car.

I’ve had a problem with my iPhone 14 pro on 17.5.1 not working on my X3 -tried my iPhone 13 not updated to the latest software and worked perfectly. The iPhone 13 updated last night to 17.5.1 and have the same problem. It’s Apple new update. Come on Apple get a grip. Your products were amazing 10 years ago, now they’re as buggy as Microsoft in the early 2000s

Apple is demanding that automakers give full access to all digital screens, including dash displays for speedometers and other essential operational controls and sensors for vehicles. Automakers aren’t keen on this and the ones that aren’t granting access aren’t being granted access to Carplay.

Per Apple support, they are not planning a patch, and we can not revert to the previous operating system. They want us to pressure our auto manufacturers to capitulate to their demands.

if you’re lucky enough to not have updated yet, you should turnoff automatic updates until the dust settles.

I don’t know what good posting will do, but if it helps someone, that’s fine.

I have a 2020 Honda CRV, my phone is an iPhone 15 with 17.4.1, my wife’s phone is an iPhone SE 1st Gen with 17.4.1. I have gone though every combination mentioned in previous posts, different cables (at least 4), reset, rebooted phone and car, open the door, then the sunroof, closed the door, headlights on and off, doesn’t matter. We have gotten a chicken from the farmer down the road and are now waiting for the Total Eclipse next week for the sacrifice. Oh, BTW, my wife’s phone connects and works every time, even on iOS 17.4.1. Go figure.

Well, yesterday I kept my wife’s phone out of the car. (17.4.1 SE), which works every time and ran my 15 through the infotainment reset and reboot, Belkin and other A to C cables. Still no luck, it will now show the CarPlay when plugged in and when selected the screen disappears and returns without CarPlay. IMO it’s better either the 15 or the cable. So, since my wife’s phone works every time on an A to lightning cord. I sprung for a Lightning to C adapter from Apple. So using a good lightening cord maybe the adapter will handle the connection. I’ll let you know.

I have tried exactly the same - reset all over - but I have to do i 5-10 times before it works - and when it works it only works until next time - so, as soon as I leave the car, lock it, shut the system down, and then coming back - it cannot connect again - and then I have to reset the phone - forget the carplay-connection, reset my system in the car - again , and again - and without understanding why it suddenly connect - it can connect again - but just for the moment, until I leave the car again! I have a Volkswagen, and iPhone 13 Pro, and it started like this after update the phone to 17.4.1. Before that there was no problem. Do I have to buy a new car or a new phone?

Weird. Mine has gone berserk so I was only getting the screen and no call volume/sound.

iPhone 15 pro max 17.4.1

Then it crashed and I was getting static from music etc. after I had usb and wireless connections at the same time.

After it reset and started randomly working fine wirelessly.

IOS is full of bugs. Even video and browsing controls crash.

Hope they fix it as not everyone has CarPlay 2.0 on multi screens yet!

I'm having a similar experience with my 2017 VW Beetle SEL. My head unit just locks up completely, no audio, no response on screen. Sometimes the Siri wave indicator is present but unresponsive. The only recourse is to force restart the head unit.

I thought my car audio system was defective until I discovered hundreds of the same complaints online. Clearly, this is an Apple issue. C'mon Apple, please correct this!

Same problem, have had my 2023 Ram 1500 since July and wireless Carplay has been flawless. Recently upgraded to 17.4.1 and now it won't connect at all. I have deleted all bluetooth profiles from my phone and reset the Infotainment system of the truck. One time I got it to connect, played music and when I turned off the truck and left it I found my phone still playing spotify silently for hours. My phone will no longer connect to wireless Carplay at all. Also have a similar experience with my wifes phone and her 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, neither her or my phone will connect to wireless carplay.
