CarPlay on IOS 17.4 not working properly

Me too. I have iphone 14 Pro Max and ever since I upgraded to 17.4, my wireless Carplay doesn't work at all. The phone pairs to the car fine, but CarPlay won't activate. Tried forgetting and re-pairing. Didn't work. Every time I try to disconnect and reconnect, I get a message telling me I have to authorize CarPlay in the car. I have a 2023 Chevy Tahoe.

I have just updated to IOS 17.4 and now the carplay will not link up. I have a BMW IX1 and this is really frustrating as i have no, google maps,hands free or music.

Any suggestions?

Wireless Carplay has been rock solid for me between my Volkswagon Grand California and iPhone 14 Pro Max, until the update to 17.4. Now it connects and disconnects every 10 seconds or so. If I do manage to retain a connection for long enough to actually press something, it resets.

SUPER frustrating!!!!

My CarPlay since the 17.4 does not working well, when you use the microphone on the keyboard on chat app, iMessage for example, CarPlay automactly disconnect from my iPhone, its a shame beacause its just when you drive when you need to use the microphone! Any solution please?

It's not just Toyota. My BMW X3 is having problems as well. Map button no longer works and when playing music from my phone, it does not show artist/song/duration, etc.

I have a 2019 Honda CR-V. After I updated my iPhone 11 to iOS 17.4, CarPlay will not work. My car says the cable is not plugged in. Same cable I've always used. Worked just fine before the software update.

17.4 update messed up my existing connection and will not connect to CarPlay now. Bluetooth and Phone still connects and works fine in my Acura ITS.

Ok i figured out the fix for me. An apparently necessary carplay setting on my iphone, “Show notifications” was disabled. I was not familiar with this setting and have never touched so i didnt think of it earlier. As soon as i enabled that setting carplay worked properly.

maybe something reset that setting in an iphone update.

worth noting i also tried many other solutions from this forum which may or may not have contributed to it being fixed.

its been awful in my BMW’s IX1 when trying to reply back to message via CarPlay it shuts off CarPlay. Partner still on 17.3 and works fine on that. But on 17.4 it’s awful. Needs updating asap.

USB cable continues to work.

Have a 2023 Bolt EV.

The technology guy at my local Audi dealership was able to get mine working. He deleted all the phones from the car, the car from my phone, restarted both the car infotainment system and my phone. He then reloaded my phone and it now works! It's been 5 days and it's still working.

Same thing in my Subaru crosstrek. Apple is doing a great job breaking new things with each upgrade.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and have not experienced any problems with my CarPlay in my vehicle, however I do not have a Camry. Check with Toyota to be sure that their device is compatible with the latest iOS update. They will be able to tell you that and if they have any software updates for your car.

I tried resetting the infotainment system on my car and magically Apple CarPlay started working. I would advise anybody who is having this issue to give that a try. With a Chevy, you put your car in park while it is running, press the phone hangup button for at least 10 seconds. Then, turn the car off, open the door, close the door and restart the car.
