I tested the 7, 8, and 9th generation IPAD. After updating to 17.4, it will not recognize any QRCODE.
But iPad pro 2020 is normal.
Is there any solution? We need to use a lot of QR CODE in class. For the time being, we can only install APPS to solve it.

The problem has been solved. After adding com.apple.barcodesupport.qrcode apps to MDM allow list,
the problematic IPAD can scan QRCODE normally.
I believe this update has changed related default settings
But it still doesn't explain why newer iPads don't have any problems.
We are having the same issue in that our nursing staff can not scan the QR code in a patient's record to link the ipad for use in Epic's MyChart Bedside application.
When you refer to the MDM Allow list, where are you adding this? We use Jamf and do not have an allow or block list.
How I add com.apple.barcodesupport.qrcode apps to MDM allow list? could you give an example, we use the camera in third app Scan but now it's not working...
IPAD OS 17.4.1 is out. apple said fixed the qrcode scanner for ipad 6-7 .
Have you tried it with the current problem? This was the solution to last year problem. I have the current issue and will test it in my environnement later to confirm but could not see any other reference to this solution elsewhere

i use Intune.
show or hide apps list ,i use "not conf" (not Visible or hide ,because i don't need to hide any apps,but it still work.)
i just add a com.apple.barcodesupport.qrcode in this list, 70 ipad qrcode work again.
Before this, the list was blank and I wasn't using it.
I suspect that ios 17.4 has modified the default permissions of the old version of IPAD·
