USB-C Port Liquid Damage

Some liquid leaked into my bag today, I thought my laptop sleeve saved my Macbook but one of the USB-C ports has stopped working. It's a 2022 13' Macbook Pro, so it only has the two ports right next to each other. I have AppleCare+ so I'm planning on having this looked at, but can I leave it for a while or will it spread/get worse? There's no Apple Store near me and I'm not free until April, I can make time if I have to but I'd like to know if it will be ok if I wait. Also, is there anything I can do now to mitigate the damage?

Hello~ I wouldn’t wait as the damage could indeed spread. Leave it off and don’t charge it. Make an appointment to get it looked at…
