MacBook Pro not turning off

I am trying to migrate my old MacBook Pro to my new MacBook Air. In doing this process, my old MacBook Pro has frozen on the migration assistant page "how do you want to transfer your information." It has a spinning mouse and has had overnight now, I let the computer go flat overnight hoping that may force a reset. I have also tried the command-control-off button key combination hundreds of times but nothing will turn the computer off. Prior to trying to do this there was nothing wrong with my old computer, just a crappy battery.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.6

You can always force quit a shutdown by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6-10 sec.

Force Shut down your Mac.
