Unable to unlock/reset my apple id.

I have an apple id which was inactive for 1-2years.

now when i login it says "This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons.

You must unlock your account before signing in"

and when i go to unlock the account at https://iforgot.apple.com/ , i get "This Apple ID is not valid or not supported"

i have an old ipad liked to this account which is locked for the past 2 days because i forgot the passcode and reset it.

I also have access to the email (gmail) linked to the blocked account.
