iPhone continuity camera suppresses notifications?

I have an app on iphone that alerts me in case of cardiac arrests in my area. This app is set to alert, sounds, badges, critical alerts, so basically all rights are granted. This morning I did not receive any alerts for a critical call. Upon checking my settings it dawned on me that I was in a meeting at the time using continuity camera.

Could it be that using continuity camera suppresses these kinds of notifications? Anybody had this before?

The previous replies were completely unhelpful. I did just test with the provider that is sending me the critical alerts. When not on a call using continuity camera I get the alert including sounds. When I am using continuity camera the sound is supressed and the message is only displayed on the screen which is facing away from the user, I hear a slight buzz, but it is easy to miss this when on a video call.

This makes the continuity camera a dangerous function. The app in question is an app that warns me of cardiac arrests in the area and instructs me to go and help or bring an AED. In this case my neighbour generated the alert which I completely missed. Apple should really fix this and still display the sound or send some kind of more clear alert.
