A pop showed up asking for password. I didn’t install anything. No apps were updated. Should I give the password

I had a "security alert" pop up on my iphone telling me to change my passwords on various sites. How do I know if this is legit? After closing the message without action, I don't see anything to indicate a problem. Is this malware?

Compromised Password warning My wife sometimes will get this popup when opening Safari that says Compromised Password. She changed her Apple ID password. I think this is bogus but how can I check? And, how can I eliminate it if it is bogus?
