Hi R,

I don't know why the formula did not automatically fill down when pressing return. Perhaps Numbers expects a certain pattern of entries. Anyway, fill down like this:

Click once on D2 to see the formula in the bottom left of the window. All good.

To fill that formula down, hover the cursor over the bottom border of D2 to see the yellow dot (the Fill Handle).

Drag the yellow dot down

Ian.

Sorry Ian, I'm clueless. Not sure what you mean when you state, fill down from D2 to D3. When I filled out the first invoice I simply inserted the info in A,B, and C on row 2 and when I tabbed over to D it automatically gave the correct amount. Then I would hit return which landed me on column A line 3 and I would repeat the process and when it got to column D it automatically entered the correct amount once more. I used the same invoice and deleted the bottom lines but when I started to fill the form out again and tabbed over to column D it stayed blank and did not enter a new total.
