Contact Photos

Hi! I have a question. Whenever I update my photo in contacts, my friends refuse to accept it and put something else, even though I want them to use mine. I was wondering if there was a way that I could set it so that only I can change my profile photo? So they won‘t be able to change it? I use the iPad 10th generation by the way. Thank you!

Perhaps not surprisingly, the owner of the iPad has control over their iPad, including the Contacts App and associated data. This control includes all of a contact's saved details and photos (if any) that are associated with a contact.

While iOS/iPadOS can automate changes to contact photos, they don't have to be accepted. You have no way to enforce changes to data saved on somebody else's device.

Speaking of personal preference, I don't like to use contact photos at all; should they appear, I simply delete them from my device.
