Why Aren’t People In My Contacts Getting My Updated Photo And Name?

I recently changed my Apple ID/Contacts photo and it updates on my iPhone but the option for updating my contact will not appear on my friends phones. This causes my contact photo to remain the same instead of changing it to the photo I want. I tried doing the process over, doing the process from settings, and deleting all other contact photos from the past. My phone is completely up to date with updates please help!

PS - I have an iPhone 13 not an iPhone 7. That is my old phone which is no longer in use. I just pressed the wrong button and can’t change it.

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about issues with your new info not sharing.

Check the steps here, and be aware, this only works with iMessage, so other Apple users using iMessage. "iMessage Name and Photo Sharing allows a user to share a Name and Photo using iMessage."

That reading isn’t really helpful. There are no directions on what to do. That guide only explains what this function is supposed to do but on my iPhone it does not work at all.
