Hi,
The Samsung SCX-3405W is listed as a supported printer in the March 13, 2024 us-en version of About AirPrint - Apple Support. This should mean that it can be used without an additional printer driver under macOS Sonoma 14, provided that the Mac and the SCX-3405W are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).
If a printer driver for some reason is needed, you could possibly try a Samsung universal driver from HP for macOS Ventura 13 https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/Print_Common_SW/Samsung_Mac_Driver_V3.93.08.dmg (choose another model, such as M2020 or M2070, if an entry for your printer does not appear). That would be entirely experimental. It may or may not work. As always, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything. Software conflicts cannot be ruled out.

Thank you for the information.
Regarding WPS:

For a wireless connection to a Wi-Fi router, please check the band and the security settings. I assume that the printer can connect via 2.4 GHz only.

Many thanks for your reply!
I'll give this driver a try. Regarding AirPrint; I used to use Wireless printing (By using an Android phone with the mobile print application) with the Wifi-Direct feature, but I never succeeded in connecting it to Home Wifi.
I tried to use the WPS option today and pressed it in router and printer, both were flickering for some time, but in the end, it wasn't connected. Is there an extra tip to be able to connect the printer to wifi to try the AirPrint feature?
Thanks
I'll search for a workaround to try this PIN mode if applicable,
If not, would it not be possible to use one of the two printer control panel Menu button methods (p 162f)? That is, if such a button exists on this very model...
Hi Jan,
I used the PIN to connect the printer to the wifi network (thanks to you). I needed to print a "Network Configuration Report" to get the PIN. This video helped me to know how to print that report.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQeSagbGNgo
Now, the printer is connected, I used IP option while adding the printer, I wrote printer IP I got from the above mentioned report, but I didn't find printer model or any near model in the dropdown list, a generic model was automatically selected. An image is attached to make it more clear.
Now I can select printer when trying to print anything, but when I order print, the printer wokeup as it sense the order, but no printing occures.
I can open printer page from IP, I can even print reports from this configuration page using my macbook which is connected to the printer through wifi.
I don't know if what I did relates to Apple Airprint you mentoined earlier - as I'm not aware of this feature - but I feel that solution become closer than ever, a final push whould be appreciated.
Thanks
Addendum
If I didn't use IP, and used default method instead, the printer is there detected, but when I select it, I should find an AirPrint option in the driver field (Use), but it is not there. Screenshot is attached.
I couldn't open this HP link, it takes forever; I may need a VPN. I'll search for a workaround to try this PIN mode if applicable, and I will get back to you with the results.
Thanks for your help!
Correction
Sorry. Apparently, no Menu button on this machine (see page 24-25 in the user's guide).
Addendum
If there is a problem with the WPS push-button method for the printer connection to a Wi-Fi router, the PIN mode can sometimes be another way.
Alternatively, a wireless setup via the printer's menu button (p 162 in the user's guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05786719#G11.4918331).
