multicam problems!

Hi everyone,

I'm having a strange problem. When I create a multicam clip with 6 different clips only 4 will be present in the multicam clip. And it seems that random ones get left out. I've tried to isolate why and there doesn;'t seem to be a troublesome clip. I thought maybe it was limited to 4 for some reason but when I open a different project and create a multicam clip with 5 it works fine.

Any thoughts out there??

Did you assign distinct names to "Camera Angle" to these clips?

Select the clips that belong together in one angle - say, "Camera A", and open the Inpector in the Info pane. If necessary, switch the metadata view from "Basic" to "General", so you can see an entry for "Camera Angle". Type Camera A

Repeat with each of the desired angles, say "Camera B", etc.

This will help FCP assign each clip to the appropriate angle.

Then select them all and create a new multicam. Do you see 6 angles now?

Hey guys,

Thanks for the help :)

I'm pretty new to FCP so forgive my ignorance. When I create the multicam clip I then drag it to the timeline. I double click it and see only 4 clips. There are also only four clips in the viewer window. I'm quite confident I chose 6 clips before creating a multicam clip but there consistently only 4 that appear. My desire is to edit using the number keys so I can develop a system of fast editing sort of like live tv. I "trashed the preferences" and the same thing is happening. I'd appreciate any insight. I've attached a screenshot.
