When connecting my iPhone to my computer I accidentally clicked "don't trust" on the computer

How can I re-establish "trust" between the two devices?

The iPhone trusts the computer, but the computer will not trust the iPhone.

I've restarted both devices.

I have the iPhone connected to the iMac by USB for updating the back-up of the iPhone. As an experiment I tried connecting the two with AirDrop and successfully transferred photos from the phone to the computer.

The desktop runs macOS Sonoma v. 14.4

I've updated the iPhone to iOS 17.4

iMac 27″, macOS 14.4

Refer to About the 'Trust This Computer' alert message on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.

To reset the trust settings, reset your Location & Privacy settings: steps 1 through 3. You may need to restart both devices.
