Delete Time Machine backup drive?

I've had my new 24" iMac for a while now and wanted to start fresh with a new backup. I erased my old G-Drive mobile backup drive and renamed it Time Machine Backup. G-Drive mobile still shows up when I click on Time Machine though and I can't seem to delete it.

Is there any way to delete it so only my renamed Time Machine Backup shows as the available backup drive?

Rename Time Machine back up folder I reformatted my hard drive and renamed my iMac because of performance issues. Now Time Machine can no longer access my old Time Machine backup folder. I want to access the old backup rather than start a new backup. I thought I could correct the problem by changing the backup folder name to match the new name for my iMac but I can't change the back up folder name. I’d really appreciate advice on how to make a Time Machine to use its old back up.

Removing Time Machine Backups I used to backup my iMac to an external drive. I have now sold the iMac but how do I remove the no longer needed backups to give much-wanted space on my Hardrive. I tried changing permissions but still unable to delete the Backup files. Is there a simple solution? Maybe I should just reformat the Hardrive but this is a last resort as I have many other files stored on it.
