10.4 watch update ultra 2 stuck in preparing update.

ultra 2 watch is on automatic update but stuck on preparing update for the 10.4 upgrade. I have turned my phone off and on twice and the watch is on the charger; still stuck.

This is the second update in a row that I have had issues with the updates on the Ultra 2.

Pls help Either I place it on charger with battery above 50% and my phone near the watch on WiFi, it still shows the same thing that it's preparing to update. Switching on off doesn't help. Unable to complete WatchOS 10.3 update (stuck at "Preparing") I have an Apple Watch version 7 and an iPhone 12 Pro. I updated the phone to iOS 17.3 and then tried to update the Watch to WatchOS 10.3, with wi-fi enabled and the Watch on its charger only a couple of feet away from the iPhone. The update seemed to go smoothly at first, but it then hung up during the "Preparing" stage, and remained that way for over an hour and a half. I finally had to remove the Watch from its charger so I could run a few errands, and then tried the update again later in the afternoon, with the same results. Has anyone else had this problem? And does anyone have a possible solution or workaround? The Watch continues to work just fine, but I've never had a problem with updates before and I'd really like to get this resolved. Thanks for any help you can offer!

That being the case, I would probably unpair and re-pair your watch.

Try a reset by holding the Side (left) and Crown until you get a reset screen.

See if it shows on the iPhone and then unpair/re-pair.
