Can I use iPhone 5 in UK in 2024?

Can I still use my iPhone 5 in the UK with a local sim card/ Is the software up to date?

The iPhone 5 is a 12 year old device at this point, cannot update past iOS 10.3.4. So no, it is not up to date, will have trouble getting any apps from the app Store.

It cannot connect to the current 5G networks.

The iPhone 5 can use Edge, 3G and LTE, but providers in the U.K have started to turn off the 3G and older networks now. So will be limited to LTE.

Probably not.

As part of the rollout of 5G, 3G networks are being shut off.

Best advice, contact your cellular provider.
