Opened a Google search notes and emails. Keyboard is typing in a foreign language. I have checked systems settings - general - language and region - English.
i also checked system settings - keyboard - Languages - English.???? How do I correct this??

You are in the wrong places. Go to system settings / keyboard / text input / edit / input sources (not spelling language) and use the minus button at the bottom to remove all items on the list except us or abc.
