iPhone 4S WiFi broken login

I was using an iPod mini as a 24/7 random song player, but it finally died. I want to use my old iPhone 4S but it won’t connect to my Deco WiFi. I am able to see select my main or guest WiFi networks, enter the *verified* passwords, but get an “unable to join network” error. I know it’s old but I just want to use it to shuffle songs until it dies. Any ideas?

The Wi-Fi settings on the 4S.....discontinued 10+ year ago and listed by Apple as Obsolete.....are likely not compatible with wireless security settings on your router.

As a test, temporarily turn off the Wi-Fi Security on your router and see if the 4S can connect that way. If it can, you know that the 4S cannot connect with the current Wi-Fi security on your router.

If the 4S still will not connect during your "no Wi-Fi security" test, it is clear that the 4S will never connect to Wi-Fi.
