Trade-in a not working macbook air

I have a water-damaged macbook air, the exterior is fine however the insides of the device are totalled. Is it possible to get value out of it if I traded it in?

MacBook left for repair now "lost" what next? MacBook left 2 weeks ago with genius bar to send out for repair and never got it back. Spent two days on phone with Apple support and after six dropped calls there is no record of my communication. They didn't know where it was. Walked into store three days after it should have been returned to me and was told a ticket was submitted, I should wait five business days. Asked for updates and nothing. Now there are no tracking updates and no records of my repair ID conversations or follow up. I think it was stolen. I don't know what to do the only solution offered by the Apple store manager was to buy myself a new one. But they "lost" it not me.

Safe to sell dead MacBook Air M2? My M2 MacBook Air died yesterday after plugging in a USB-C cable, won't charge, power up etc. It's out of warranty btw. I've ordered a new one but does anyone know how safe it is to sell the old one for parts? It's in perfect condition except for the probably fried logic board. I had FileVault turned on and have used Findmy to wipe it if it powers up again and gets online.

I can't speak for Apple, but if that computer's insides are totaled by water damage, I'd be surprised if Apple offered you much, if anything, in trade.
