Problems setting up apple pay

I have an older Mac (6+yrs). Trying to set up apple pay, but do not have wallet or apple pay in the system preferences. Help.i have macOS Monterey version 12.7.4.

Apple Pay on my new Macbook Air I have recently purchased a MacBook Air and I'm having difficulty with the Apple Pay. There is a Wallet and Apple Pay screen but it doesn't say to turn Apple Pay on or anything. And when I go to my messages there isn't a way to pull up Apple Pay. How do I set up Apple Pay on iMac? 2017 iMac desktop (Ventura 13.4.1) does not have a wallet and I do not see how to use apple pay. Apple Support sez "Mac models introduced in 2012 or later with an Apple Pay-enabled iPhone or Apple Watch" are compatible. I have these set up for Apple Pay. So what is the secret to getting it to work on my iMac?

Apple Pay requires biometric protection and your Mac is too old to support biometrics. You’ll have to get a newer Mac and enable biometrics and Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for Apple Pay to work. Sorry.
