Moving files to a new account
I’m setting up a new account on my Mac and want to move my files to my new account.

There are some options that come to mind:
- In the old account, move the files to the Shared folder. Share files with others who use your Mac - Apple Support

- Another option that comes to mind would be to copy those files to an external drive from the old user account, then switch to the new user account and copy them back.

I'm assuming you're creating a new account so that another family member can use that Mac on their own account?
