My Mac Studio says that it’s hard drive is full

I just upgraded from a 2017 5K iMac to a Mac Studio with 64 gb ram. I used the Mac migration software, on turning on the Mac Studio, but within a couple days, the Mac Studio says that it’s hard drive is full, which is clearly due to some sort of duplication. I first noticed it because Time Machine wouldn’t back up to my NAS. Once I turned off Time Machine, then I could download from the internet again, but, when I get information from the finder it still says that I have used up all 2tb on my Mac Studio, but prior to a week ago I didn’t even have 750 gb. I don’t know how to find this duplication. Any ideas?

Consider downloading and running this little "discovery" utility, Etrecheck. it changes NOTHING.

it contains little tests for speeds of devices, CPU utilization, memory usage, energy usage and a digest of recent problems, in one easy to use package. it does not even need to be Installed. Because less can be learned when your Mac is running great, best time to run is when your problems are actually occurring, if possible.

if you follow the directions faithfully, its report (pre-laundered of all personally-identifiable information) can be "Shared" to the system ClipBoard, then Pasted into an Additional text window in a reply on the forums.
