MacBook Pro charging when connected to external monitor via usb c

Hi, I often use the mac connected to a Apple Studio Display external monitor via Usb c. By doing so, however, the mac is always charging even if in reality it is not charging because the power supplied by the Usb c port of the monitor. Is there any way to disable charging through that Usb port from the mac? Could it create long-term battery problems in your opinion?

MacBook Pro 15″, 10.13

That would be normal since the USB-C port on the display is providing electrical power to computer

Not unless you disconnect the cable from the computer.

The computer will not over charge.

Apple Laptop computers can be used on Electrical Power for as long as you want and it does not damage to the battery.

Personally suggest using the Laptop on Battery Power as least once a month just so the Chemical Reactions in the Battery gets some " Exercise "
