Issues with sound after 17.4.1 update on iPhone 11

I have restarted etc, verified the sounds and haptics, turned off the bluetooth etc. What I noticed is that when I go into my sounds, my ringtone and alerts is all the way up and if I play my ringtone from here I can hear it fine. If I then call myself from my office line I can barely hear the ringing. I was able to fix this problem by going into my ringtone selecting a different ringtone and then playing that one and calling myself. Volume worked fine, went back in and changed my ringtone back to Reflection and then called myself and the volume then worked for me. I was dinking with this for at least 30 minutes trying to get my phone to ring so I could hear it.

Yep. It was the Bluetooth all along. I closed the BT and reopened the BT then all notofication sounds came back on. AWESOME!

Disabling noise cancellation on your iPhone might help. Have you tried it?

Also, change your iPhone's Call Audio Routing Settings. It might cause an issue. To change it, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Call Audio Recording > Automatic.

Lastly, I know it's funny. But if you missed out, disconnect all your Bluetooth connections.

i forced a restart of my iPhone and then it started to work. Now I get the ring sound with incoming calls.

I am not able able to hear anything in my earpiece during calls, whether incoming or outgoing after this latest ios update 17.4.1. Able to hear extremely feeble ringing and voices when I change the setting of “hearing aid compatibility’ to ON in “hearing devices” in accessibility settings. Maybe the problem started either after the software update or I also tried setting up the SPATIAL AUDIO SETTING, which I was not able to set or delete successfully as it is nowhere to be seen in settings as the tutorial claims!!

Was this behavior fixed in iOS update 17.5 or 17.5.1? Can someone that has the issue update their iPhone and let us know?

I bought a good quality refurbished iPhone SE, ran the update on day 1 and now can’t use it! I’ve looked at the forum posts and it seems this is a common problem - what’s more you can’t uninstall the update. Am hanging on to my old, pre-17.4.1 handset until Apple gets around to finding a fix and issuing a new update.

But tbh next time I renew my handset I’m going android.

After updating to ios 17.4.1 some of my bluetooth audio peripherals work, and others do not.

Earbuds, for example, are fine, but over the ear headphones do not.

I have tried everything. Hard reset. Disconnect/reconnect the device. Turn on/off bluetooth. Checked accessibility and other settings. Nothing works.

The headset works, as it connects to my computer flawlessly.

Please advise.

Hello all! I have an iPhone 12 mini with the sound issues mentioned above: no sound for incoming calls, microphone malfunctioning on both calls and WhatsApp, no sound at all (ringtone, keyboard, etc.), etc. I have tried all (including jigneshpadhiyar9120’s recommendations), but to no avail. The phone may recover some sound after a few restarts, but continues to malfunction after a bit. These issues started with the update to 17.5.1 in my case... any hints?

My iPhone 12 Pro has the same issue after updating to 17.4.1.

Voice calls are too annoying, not able to hear the sound.

Atleast I am able to hear with Airpods

I'm having the same issue on my iPhone 14 (not Pro). In addition, my dictation is not working at all. Tried all fixes. No change.
