Apple watch ultra and Polar H10 connection issue

Hi everyone, I couldn’t find ajy answers on this specific topic so here we go. I recently bought a Polar H10 heart rate monitor and tried connecting it to my apple watch ultra via bluetooth. The heart rate monitor is connected to my watch but when I start a workout it doesn’t measure my heart rate/my watch isn’t using it’s data or so it seems. I still receive the same heart rate information as I would without the monitor. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
