problem with recognizing an external monitor on sonoma 14.4.1

SOLVED. I have 2 monitors that are daisy chained and ends into laptop. Same cable also provides power to my computer. So I disconnected that cable, and plugged the USB-C power cable that's connected to my brick into computer. Then I plugged the cable from the monitors into laptop and both monitors were immediately recognized. Unplugged the power cable from the brick and now everything is working normally. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I also had this problem. I am using a MacBook Air, 15-inch, M2, 2023. Installing Sonoma 14.4.1 bricked my display support. I could no longer detect my LG UHD 32UP83A-W which was connected via USB-C cable.

My solution was to reset my monitor back to factory conditions. Upon doing so, my MacBook instantly recognized the monitor like it used to.

I have the same problem with my M2 Pro and a Philips 345B1C 34 inch Curved WQHD Monitor, connected by HDMI through an adapter. All worked fine until the re-start after installing 14.4.1 this morning and the Mac now completely fails to recognise the monitor.

Same. LG UltraFine 4k on MacBook Pro 14" M1. 2 monitors daisy chained and connected to laptop via USB-C. Monitors dont even turn on unless connected to the computer so no idea how to factory reset them.

I'm actually afraid to update to Sonoma 14.4.1 since I work fulltime with an external display (Samsung FHD ls22f350fhlxzb) connected directly to the HDMI port because of this issue (Macbook pro 14' m3) 😑

Same issue with M2 Ultra Mac Studio. LG C3 via HDMI worked fine before 14.4.1. Now it isn't recognized.
