On M2 Macbook Air, Safari instantly beachballs/“not responding” on MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1

Updated to the latest MacOS last night on my M2 Macbook Air. Safari now will not load any pages; the two tabs I had from a previous session get hung, the app beachballs, and I have to force quit it because it's not responding. This behavior persisted even after I deleted all of my Safari extensions. The app works fine on another MacOS user profile I created to test it. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Once I get it cursor no longer works and the only way to get it back again is to close that tabbed window. It doesn't lock up Safari, just the tab it is occupying. Safari stops loading webpages Issue: Type web address into address bar select enter progress bar appears, but stops part way (estimate about 10%, judging how far the blue line moves) after a period, the progress bar disappears and a white page is displayed For pages that are already open, content stops refreshing The issue is only temporarily resolved by restarting the machine. Safari crashes on Google Maps and in "Settings > Websites" (Mac) Problems: When visiting https://maps.google.com/ after a few seconds Safari crashes completely When opening Safari settings (via "Safari > Settings" or "CMD + , ") it also immediately crashes. Furthermore I figured out that when performing a secondary click on my Safari Extension and hitting "Manage Extension..." I get into the Safari Settings without crashing. All tabs work, except if I click on "Websites", then it immediately crashes as well. Steps to fix taken: Restart Safari & Reboot Mac Delete everything Safari saves using cmdline (see here, Note: some commands returned "Operation not permitted" even when doing "sudo") Setting up a secondary account. Interestingly fixes both problems. Using Safari Technology Preview also shows the two mentioned problems Specs: MacBook Pro 16" (M2 Pro) macOS Ventura 13.4.1 (c, 22F770820d) Safari Version 16.5.2 (18615.2.9.11.10) Are there any suggestions of how to resolve this issue?
