Unable to open Microsoft Word file on Mac
Word cannot open the file because the file format does not match the file extension on Mac Air. I can see the file I just cant open it.

As I posted here, have you tried changing the extension to the format? Assuming this is Word for Mac, control-click on the file and select 'Get Info', then change the extension under 'Name and Extension'. Both DOC (.doc) and DOCX (.docx) extensions are standard for a Word document.
