iphone messages only shows first letter of text

My iPhone 15 Pro Max is only showing the first letter of my text conversations. This just started happening in the last five days. I sell real estate and clear and concise communication with my clients is imperative. How do we fix this??? With some of the other buggy issues I’m really regretting buying this phone. Apple needs to step up the game here!

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, it is driving me crazy. Closing the message app, restarting phone, swiping up and down does not resolve this issue. I hope they resolve this quickly. I need to see the whole text chains!

Your suggestion worked! I have an iPhone 15 ProMax that was doing the same thing. I scrolled up and down and the messages reappeared.

Same here! Have never seen it before, and it only happens with some people. You can open the message by clicking on the letter but you can't get back to the whole string. I have to close out of messages and go back in to see it. Really bizarre.

My iPhone 12 has just started doing that after the last upgrade.

As a work-around I change the font size to something smaller, the messages appear in whole. When I change back to my preferred larger font, the problem returns.

I had the same issue just today with my iPhone 15 pro max. I had no clue what to do. It was just on some msgs. Maybe not affecting the ones that were android on the other end. When I saw this and scrolled thru the comments I tried to scroll up and down on the msg but that didn’t work. I do have my font quite large. My kids say they can read it from across the room. Oh well, my eye sight isn’t so great. So I took it down to 100% and it all came back I went back up to about 130 and it’s still there. So I am certain we will have a new fix soon.

I have iPhone 14max. Never had a problem like this before. It’s just annoying, Apple should be ashamed. Lots of issues with software in the last 3 years. Seriously thinking of switching this September. I used to trust Apple over others but lately their quality have been subpar even below the rest. Apple better come up with a fix fast!

Changing text size to a smaller size worked & now I see all of my messages. Hope Apple fixes this soon so I can return to a text size I can see!

Ugh, I haven’t seen a response from Apple but it’s super annoying! Mine is intermittent and random. Sometimes the messages will reappear out of no where, if I close the message app or scroll and sometimes they just remain the one letter. 🥴

My iPhone 12 Pro Max does the same thing. Only cure I’ve found is to terminate the Message app and open it again.

Same here. Only the first letter visible in message. It just began in the past few days.

This is happening to my mother’s phone too. And I told her I’d do some research for her. It only happens in our text thread specifically and it’s also random and wishy washy. I’m happy she’s not alone, but I’m very surprised to see this forum without any answers, explanation, or updates from Apple etc. 🙄😡
