iPhone 8 cannot locate air tag

Hello, my husband, who’s using an iPhone 8 has lost his AirTag. The phone sometimes says it cannot locate the tag, then other times the tag looks like it’s in the house. Without the precision location funtionality of later iPhone models can you please suggest how we find the lost AirTag?

Losing AirTag and iPhone Hi, i am wondering, what if (it has not happens yet) i lose my AirTag and my iPhone? Can i log in to a different device and look in find my to locate the AirTag?
